Dr. Joey Rodgers
Dr. Joey Rodgers is a pastor, organizational leader, teacher, author, missionary, coach, and founder of 5 Marks Ministries.
He has served in Christian ministry since 1985 and has spent more than 26 years as a lead pastor. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church Peachtree City, Georgia, where he provides spiritual and organizational leadership to a congregation of approximately 2,800 people and a ministry staff of 26.
Throughout more than four decades of ministry, Joey has served churches, ministries, and organizations in the United States and internationally. His experience includes pastoral leadership, Christian education, missionary service, staff development, strategic planning, organizational change, disciple-making, leadership coaching, and team development. These experiences have given him a deep appreciation for both the privilege and pressure of leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Joey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Carson-Newman University and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also earned a Doctorate in Education with an emphasis in Leadership and Organizational Management.
Through it all, his academic training has strengthened his ability to understand organizational culture, adult learning, leadership development, change management, strategic planning, and team effectiveness. More importantly, he has spent decades applying those principles within the everyday realities of church and ministry leadership.

A PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE
Joey and his wife, Meg, are the parents of four grown children. Their family journey, including the experience of parenting a child with special needs, has deepened Joey’s understanding of faith, resilience, uncertainty, caregiving, family strength, and long-term hope.
He brings that same pastoral sensitivity to leaders and families navigating demanding or unexpected seasons.

At the heart of Joey’s ministry is a desire to help people move beyond empty religion and discover an authentic, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. His personal mission is to rescue the religious from religion and introduce all people to an intimate relationship with Jesus.
Thist mission shapes everything 5 Marks does—from developing leaders and strengthening organizations to equipping disciples and encouraging families.
